19 Day Fast
It’s that special time of year for Baha’is around the world where everyone that is able to, fasts from eating and drinking anything from sunrise to sunset for nineteen days.
Waking up early for some focused spiritual connection with the Divine and striving to maintain that meditative contemplation throughout the day is definitely amplified by the physical detachment from food and water.
I love the Fast. I haven’t successfully completed each Fast over the past twenty years but every single attempt has held significant and profound insights for me - whether it is a simple increase in awareness and self-knowledge or tectonic shifts in my consciousness and mental geography or mystic glimpses into the hidden mysteries of the universe.
It is always awesome.
So here we go - if any significant reflections are unearthed, I’ll be sure to share.
